Summary
Aim
The aim of this project is to offer an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss how to take pragmatic steps towards a more stable and predictable cybersecurity environment, with a specific focus on the risks of escalation in times of conflict, and the implementation of transparency and confidence-building measures. It aims to bring together the international community to deal with issues of cybersecurity through multilateral efforts. UNIDIR’s aims are to broaden the international security debate both geographically and across stakeholders, while showcasing CBMs as a valuable tool for progress.
Context
The United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) holds the Cyber Security Conference annually, with varying topics in discussion each year. The conferences aim to prevent misuse and engage stakeholders on the international security aspect of the cyber domain.
