The Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre (GCSCC), in partnership with the Tunisian Agence Nationale de la Sécurité Informatique (ANSI), helped the government of Tunisia conduct a national cybersecurity capacity assessment using the Cybersecurity Capacity Maturity Model for Nations (CMM) in 2018.

Context

As part of the global constellation of capacity centres working with the University of Oxford’s Cybersecurity Capacity Maturity Model for Nations (CMM), at the invitation of governments, the OCSC conducts multi-stakeholder national cybersecurity capacity assessments. The GCSCC of the Department of Computer Science of the University of Oxford published the first Cybersecurity Capacity Maturity Model for Nations (CMM) in 2016 to help governments gain a comprehensive of all areas of their cybersecurity capacity.

The Cyber Security Capacity Maturity Model for Nations (CMM) is a globally recognised cyber maturity model develop by the Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre (GCSCC) at the University of Oxford and has been deployed more than 130 times in 90 nations around the world. The review provides a holistic assessment of each countries national capacity to manage complex cyber risks and identifies areas for improvement.

The CMM supports the review of cybersecurity capacity in terms of five dimensions: Cybersecurity Policy and Strategy; Cybersecurity Culture and Society; Building Cybersecurity Knowledge and Capabilities; Legal and Regulatory Frameworks; and Standards and Technologies.
