Summary

This project aims to increase cyber capacity and build cooperation on cybersecurity between key Indian and British stakeholders from the private sector, academia and government.

In the last few years, India has been developing its digital economy through ‘Digital India’ and other similar initiatives. This approach has led to several positive socio-economic impacts but it has also increased India’s vulnerability to cyberattacks. Several initiatives aimed at improving cybersecurity have been launched since.

However, as India continues to invest in and work towards a smart India, more efforts needs to be exerted aimed at upgrading its cyber security capacities, at creating trust and security in the digital infrastructure and at putting in place plans that would harness economy-wide benefits.

The project is carried out through real-time, life-like cyber crisis simulations which build awareness and capacity by revealing flaws and unintended consequences in cybersecurity strategies and practices.
