Summary

This project provided an industry-wide insight into the key threats facing the Nigerian banking sector and its current level of cyber security maturity.  The project was implemented by Control Risks’ cyber security team between June 2016 and March 2017. It highlighted the key criminal, nation-state and activist groups that would be looking to target the sector and provided  a rapid assessment of the sector’s ability to defend against the identified threats. 100% of banking participants who responded to a survey at the end of the project indicated that both the maturity assessment and threat assessment had helped them inform their security programme. The project has sparked a number of cross UK-Nigeria discussions on security best practise which look to continue and strengthen into 2018.
