Summary
The course, which is restricted to participants from the six countries of the Western Balkan region, is organized with the intent to foster “advanced cybersecurity policy and technological awareness”.

Outcomes
- Critical understanding of key issues and concepts in cybersecurity world affairs and international relations with a focus on Western Balkans region
- Advanced understanding of the European and global policies related to cybersecurity and digital transformation, with a focus on the impact on regional and national policies
- Increased awareness of the key role of cooperation between Italy and the Western Balkans in order to strengthen cybersecurity expertise of public sector and diplomats from the region
- Advanced knowledge as public sector officials of the crucial importance of cybersecurity focusing on the local context
- Establishment of a Western Balkan Informal Cybersecurity Expert Network
Activities
The course is structured in two modules:
- Online Modules – This module involves two 10-hours online courses addressing the following topics: Cybersecurity and Cyber-Risks: Mapping the Technological Environment, Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity: Main Management and Policy Challenges
- Intensive In presence Modules: Five-day intensive program will focus on the following topic: Blockchain and Machine Learning: Technological and Application Challenges, National and International Legal Challenges of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, Big Data: Technological Developments and Impact on Cybersecurity, Machine Learning and Its Contribution to Cybersecurity.
