Summary
The project funded 3 scholars from The Gambia, Uganda and Zambia who completed their Masters on the Chevening programme from Sept 2020 – August 2021. A further 3 scholars from the Solomon Islands, Pakistan and Kenya will start their Masters in Sept 2021 – August 2022.

Aim
The aims of the Chevening Scholarships Programme are:
- To attract and select from around the world those scholars who demonstrate the greatest potential to become leaders, decision-makers and opinion-formers in their own countries.
- To ensure scholars’ experiences in the UK leave them supportive of the UK.
- To position Chevening as the most prestigious programme of its type in the world.
Context
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and the Cyber Policy Department will collaborate in a scheme to provide Chevening partnership scholarships, known as the Chevening Cyber and Tech Scholarships, for overseas students wishing to study for a one-year taught Master’s degree in National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) certified courses at any accredited university in the UK.
Outputs/Outcomes
To build relations with promising individuals who are likely to be influential in cyber and tech in the future.
