“Closing the Gap” Conference
As part of the European Cyber Diplomacy Initiative, the EU Cyber Direct project, Egmont Institute, and the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in partnership with other research institutions organise an international conference for scholars, policy analysts and practitioners working on cyber-related issues.
This two-day conference aims to:
Foster productive exchanges between different generations of scholars (emerging talents and established researchers), disciplines (law, political science, international relations, economics, geopolitics, IT, media studies), sectors (government, private sector, academia, NGOs) and regions (Global South-North);
Provide a platform for perspectives from Global South on key priorities;
Build the capacity of young scholars required for key roles in policy making (or something akin).
CYBERUK is the UK government’s flagship cyber security event. Hosted by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), it features world-class speakers, solutions and opportunities for interaction between the public and private sectors. You will be briefed on the evolving cyber threat and how we must respond as individuals and as a community to keep Britain safe in cyberspace.
Attended by over 2000 delegates, CYBERUK is the authoritative event for the UK’s cyber security community. It demonstrates what we can do together as teams, as departments and as organisations to deliver a digital Britain that leads the world in cyber resilience.
CyCon 2020, entitled 20/20 Vision: The Next Decade, will ask questions about how cyberspace and cyber conflict will evolve in the 2020s. What are the emerging technologies, policies and legal frameworks that will shape the future at societal and personal levels? How can we ensure that the cyberspace, continuously open to technological innovation, will be more transparent, predictable and safe, still reflecting our values?
Implementing Cyber Norms: National Experiences and Emerging Good Practices
WHAT: How do States implement norms of responsible behaviour in cyberspace? What good practices are emerging in the field? The United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) is pleased to invite you to a series of webinars that will explore national approaches to the implementation of cyber norms, with a particular focus on emerging good practices in multi-stakeholder engagement.
WHEN & WHERE: 28 May 16:00 (CET), 11 June 14:00 (CET), 25 June 15:00 (CET)
PARTICIPANTS: UNIDIR encourages the participation of representatives and experts specialized or interested in issues pertaining to the international peace and security in cyberspace.
EuroDIG this year will be a virtual meeting from June 10 – 12, 2020.
Our host The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) together with the Italian cooperation partners and EuroDIG have built strong ties to the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) and therefore EuroDIG will remain a satellite event in the overall programme of ESOF.
Our overarching theme “Towards a sustainable governance of the Internet” has not lost its actuality and we will adapt partly the content of our programme to the current challenges.
