Cyber Smart Pacific

Cyber Smart Pacific is an annual public awareness raising campaign carried out by  the Pacific Cyber Security Operational Network (PaCSON) that started in 2020.

The campaign aims to encourage people to step up their digital safety and security so they are less vulnerable to the effects of cyber attacks. The campaign coincides with International Cyber Awareness month.

The latest campaign advocates, promotes and include four key actions individuals can implement to protect themselves better:

  1. Upsize passwords so they’re long, strong and hard to crack.
  2. Upgrade to two-factor authentication so your online accounts have double protection.
  3. Update apps and software to keep bugs and viruses out.
  4. Uphold privacy to keep your personal information secure.
  5. Uplift data security to protect against unauthorised access.

The campaign also insists on the importance of  citizens to report online incident to local PaCSON Members.
