Summary

Working alongside the Organization of American States (OAS) Cybersecurity Programme team and Antigua and Barbuda’s Ministry of Information, Broadcasting, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, PGI designed a one-day tabletop exercise (TTX) to enhance interoperability with regional partner Cyber Emergency Response Teams (CERTs), to share best practice and align regional cyber incident response processes

Details

Aim

PGI facilitated the TTX to test the readiness and response capabilities of government agencies and private sector organizations in the event of a multi-dimensional cyber-attack targeting critical infrastructure and generating multiple related challenges. The scenario impacted airport systems eventually grounding all flights in the region, whilst a concurrent incident disrupted services of a key Internet Service Provider, challenging assumptions regarding incident coordination.

Outcomes

The TTX was based on a fictional scenario designed to:

  • Validate plans and procedures (Validation)
  • Develop staff competencies and give them practice in carrying out their roles during an incident (Training)
  • Test policies and procedures during an incident (Testing)
