Summary

eGA will advise the Uganda National Information Technology Agency (NITA-U) on updating the country’s cyber security strategy. An updated cyber security strategy will provide the overall cyber security direction for the government of Uganda aligned to the cyber laws and regulations as well as enable efficient management of cyber security risks and help to build a digital environment that citizens and businesses can trust.

To renew the strategy, eGA experts will review existing cybersecurity interventions, previous strategies, related standards, policies and frameworks, current practices. Based on them eGa experts will recommend improvements to the strategy. Also, the experts will analyse international best practices from 10 countries that are at a mature level in national cyber security capability and identify the elements for adaptation to Uganda’s strategy.

Within the project, eGA will carry out stakeholder consultations on the draft cyber security strategy aimed at raising awareness on cyber security management and their role in the implementation of the strategy.
