Aim
The objective is to gain expert knowledge necessary for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2018/243 in the part that refers to participants in the virtual currencies market and regulation of the matter, as well as to establish an efficient registration, monitoring of providers of exchange services of virtual currencies and custodian wallet providers in the segment of preventing money laundering and terrorist financing.
In the first stage of regulating this area, support is needed to transfer expertise necessary for understanding and regulating virtual currency transactions, in the context of monitoring, supervising, and preventing the use of such transactions for money laundering and terrorist financing. In later stages, i.e. after the area is legally regulated, the support is going to be needed in further institutional strengthening of identified supervisory authorities for persons providing services of exchanging virtual currencies and custodian wallet providers in the segment of preventing money laundering and terrorist financing and their supervisory practices.

Outputs
Activities Presentation covering topics related to concept of virtual currency and wallet providers, security of crypto-assets, vulnerabilities and abuse in DeFi, regulation and supervision on Virtual Asset Service Providers.
