Summary
This project enhances ASEAN’s cyber security landscape through training programs for youth, collaborating with third-party organizations, and bolstering information gathering and analysis capabilities. The goal is to elevate cyber security response across the ASEAN region by strengthening the human resource development environment and fostering cooperation in cyber security.

Aim
Enhancing capacity for cybersecurity in ASEAN member states (AMS).
Context
The Government of Japan, through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF), has established the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) of Thailand in 2018 as a centre for security human resource development in the ASEAN region. The ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Capacity Building Centre (AJCCBC) was established at the ETDA under the MDES of Thailand as a centre for the development of security human resources in the ASEAN region. The AJCCBC has contributed to the improvement of cybersecurity in the ASEAN region by launching the AJCCBC at the ETDA. Recently, the Government of Thailand submitted a request to the ASEAN Secretariat for approval to support the strengthening of the AJCCBC’s programs to contribute to the enhancement of cybersecurity in ASEAN countries through the AJCCBC.
Outcomes
Improving ability and preparedness of cybersecurity professionals within ASEAN region for cybersecurity and trusted digital services.
Outputs
1) Provision of training for improvement in cybersecurity and trusted digital services capability among AMS.
2) Organizing of capacity building events for improvement in cybersecurity and trusted digital services among young AMS professionals.
3) Promotion of programs for improvement in facilitating cybersecurity and trusted digital services in collaboration with third parties.
4) Improvement of Information collection, sharing and analysis regarding cyber security.
