Summary

Aim

The Cybersecurity Capacity Centre for South Africa (C3SA) project strives to improve the African region’s ability to protect digital infrastructure and combat cyber threats and recover from cyber crime in a safe digital society. The aim of this project was due to apply the framework of the Cybersecurity Capacity Maturity Model for Nations (CMM) to map and review cybersecurity capacity in Somalia.

Context

C3SA is a research project and part of a global constellation of regional cybersecurity capacity research centers including the University of Oxford Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre (GCSCC) and the Oceania Cyber Security Centre (OCSC). C3SA is a consortium between Research ICT Africa (RIA), the Department of Information Systems (DIS) at the University of Cape Town (UCT), the Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre (GCSCC) and the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI).  Cybersecurity Capacity Centre for South Africa (C3SA). Additionally, the CMM framework used to assess cybersecurity capability and maturity was developed by the GCSCC in consultation with over 200 international experts from private and public sectors.
