Caribbean Energy Sector Cybersecurity Forum
May 10th 10AM to 5PM EST and May 11th 10AM to 5:30PM EST
Cyberattacks are posing an increasing threat to the Caribbean’s energy sector. In light of this, from May 10th to May 11th, 2022, USAID’s Caribbean Energy Sector Cybersecurity Forum will convene energy sector stakeholders, cybersecurity experts, international aid organizations, and those looking to expand their cyber knowledge and capabilities to learn, grow, and network across the two days of the Forum. With events for all levels of cyber awareness, this forum is intended enhance the Caribbean energy sector’s security and capacity to manage the growing risk of cyberattacks.
The United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Strengthening Utilities and Promoting Energy Reform (SUPER) program is focused on enhancing energy sector cybersecurity in the Caribbean region.

Locked Shields 2021
The NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE) organises Exercise Locked Shields 2021, the largest and most complex international live-fire cyber defence exercise in the world. This year the exercise highlights the need of cyber defenders and strategic decision-makers to understand the numerous interdependencies between national IT systems.
In 2021 Exercise Locked Shields exercise is taking place on 13-16 April and will again highlight the increased need for a better functional understanding between various experts and decision-making levels. The importance and relevance of Locked Shields can be gauged from the range of cyber threats that are concerning nations, and the exercise will test their ability to protect vital services and critical infrastructure.
The organisers integrate both technical and strategic games, enabling participating nations to practice the entire chain of command in the event of a severe cyber incident. This includes strategic and operational level decision making and involves defending both civilian and military infrastructures and capabilities.
The annual real-time network defence exercise is a unique opportunity for national cyber defenders to practise protection of national IT systems and critical infrastructure under the pressure of a severe cyberattack.
Locked Shields 2021 is organised by CCDCOE in cooperation with NATO Communications and Information Agency, the Estonian Ministry of Defence, the Estonian Defence Forces, Siemens, Ericsson, TalTech, Foundation CR14, Bittium, Clarified Security, Arctic Security, Cisco, Stamus Networks, SpaceIT, Sentinel, the Financial Service Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC), US Defense Innovation Unit, Microsoft, Atech, Avibras, SUTD iTrust Singapore, The European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats, NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, European Defence Agency, Space ISAC, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), STM, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd, NATO M&S COE and PaloAlto networks.

Water and Cyber Security: Protection of Critical Water-Related Infrastructure, Part II
The online event "Water and Cyber Security - Protection of Critical Water-related Infrastructure, part II" will take place on Tuesday, 13 April 2021 at 14:00-17:00 (CEST). The event is organized by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Slovenia to UNOG in Geneva, the Permanent Mission of Israel to UNOG in Geneva, World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Microsoft.
The meeting will bring together experts from different countries, international organizations and the private sector to explore enhancements on implementation of SDG6 and SDG16 of the Agenda 2030. It will reaffirm commitment to multilateralism in the area of new challenges regarding water. To face these challenges, we need a networked multilateralism, strengthening coordination among multilateral and regional organizations; and an inclusive multilateralism, based on deep interaction with civil society, businesses, local and regional authorities and other stakeholders. Participants will explore possible practical follow-up to facilitate the exchange of information and best practices, and to discuss the implications of international law.
